As you may well be aware….it’s May!!!!! That leaves us just TWO MONTHS (!!!) until Once Upon a Time in the West Festival 2018. And you also may well be aware that we have MEDIEVAL as our fancy dress theme for 2018 and that we’ve had a few Gargoyles conjured up by the miracle worker that is Perry Harris.
And now we have one more….
Backstory on the latest conception of Gargoyle…
Gargoyles are traditionally used to scare away undesirable things
A certain undesirable is visiting London on the Friday of OUT West.
Word is out Internationally of how incredible Once Upon a Time in The West Festival is (obs!) , and indeed we have people from all over the World come to party with us. Now in anticipation of that certain Undesirable trying to use his vast wealth and influence to blag a couple of guest passes and a campervan ticket, we’ve created this Gargoyle to help ward off any Presidential interests, take-over bids, erection of golf-courses etc etc.
So now’s your chance to name him – we suspect it’s a him anyway, but always up for being convinced otherwise.
All you need to do is to goto the Facebook Page to reply with a name in the comments box below with your suggested name. We will look through all the suggestions, pick the one that makes us laugh the most and the winner gets 5 drinks tokens at the bar for their trouble.
No Facebook Page ? – then feel free to email your suggestions in to email@example.com
If you don’t have your tickets yet..remember only 2 MONTHS to go!!!
It’s here – oh yes.. We’re extending the hours of our late night venue into the daytime for your delectation and consummate pleasure…
Very proud to welcome back as headliners The Showhawk Duo, who currently are embarked on a sell-out tour of national domination. Also we have The Swinghoppers ( 3 artists in their own right who have come together in a fusion of swing, hip-hop, beatboxing and beyond. The line up cracks on with the hero of Swing, funky house and Electro Beats – the one and only Phat Sam!
Then we’re onto local and national Legends and Granddaddies of the Westcountry Party Scene – From Eat Static, Circus Warp, Free Parties to Boomtown and Glastonbury, we welcome along SHane, Dale Martin, Toby Spin, Dapper Dan, Matty , Alex & Tim.
Then there’s the Cabaret with the infamous Universally CHallenged Game-show and get your inner punk thoroughly toned with X-ray Spexercise’s punk aerobics – more nonsense tba!!

A quick recap… remember last Autumn when we did an End of Season Party with Los Albertos and the queue reached down the road. The night was hugely popular with a one in , one out…. Well, we’re gonna do it again – this time with Subgiant, Invisible and, DJ Toby Spin and Decor & Visuals by Caustik Disko. All set in the fabulous venue at 23 Bath St, Frome on 5th May 2018.
So for Once Upon a Time in the West Festival 2018, the theme for dressing up on Sunday will be ..
Yep this one gives quite a lot of range and there will be prizes for the best costume as usual… So will it be Queens, Princesses, Kings, Naves, Dragons, Instruments of Dastardly Things, Folklore, Dungeons – the list goes on and on – get creative, we love things that make us laugh – shrubberies, Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog, hot pokers…
and once again thanks to Perry Harris for our amazing Gargoyles
…. and Praise Be!!! We love working with this pair – the sound, the look and the positive attitude to their performance is so great that you can taste it. Sadly United Stoats of America have had to drop out and we’ve brought you Dry WHite Bones along as a special treat….
The best Bluegrass Band from the South Coast? Probably… featuring most of the same members of The Doghouse Boat Boys ( whom they have replaced) comes Bluegrass of epic proportions played how it should be, raw and live!!!
Well, we’ve been after them to come and play for years and now we’ve got ’em!!! A true Bristol Heavyweight and one of the original purveyors of the Bristol Ska sound, we’re very honoured to have Smerins along for 2018. Check out their Radio 6 performance below…
Yes indeedy!! Brighton Ska Naughties Los ALbertos are back once again for one of their rare UK festival appearances. It’s been a couple of years since L.A. got back together to do a few one offs, having decided to call it a day. OUT West 15 was one of hallowed dates, and we’re well chuffed to have them back again in 2018.
